Our pillars for a sustainable future
Building a sustainable future is part of our essence. In this section, you will learn about the pillars that guide our actions: climate change, D&I, social responsibility, safety and ethical conduct.
Climate and Environment
We act responsibly in managing our environmental impacts, aligning our practices with global guidelines for sustainability and environmental preservation. Environmental Management in our operations is conducted by a rigorous Integrated Management System, which establishes specific procedures to ensure safety, legal compliance and respect for the environment.
We incorporate the challenges of the climate agenda into our strategy, investing in energy efficiency projects to reduce our carbon footprint.
Society
We value our employees and promote a healthy, diverse and respectful environment, with equal opportunities for all. We also operate in the communities near our bases and offices, supporting social projects that encourage professional qualification, education, environmental awareness, sports, culture and citizenship.
These initiatives reflect our vision of sustainability and our commitment to social, economic and environmental development.
Health and Safety
Safety is our main value and is at the center of all operations. We prioritize human factors, promoting a culture of prevention and risk management to protect lives and assets. Furthermore, our commitment to safety strengthens customer trust and business sustainability.
Emissions reduction
Constellation is committed to actions aligned with its ambition to achieve the targets set out in the ESG Plan 2030, focusing on managing, mitigation, and reducing emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3. Our ambition is to be operators’ preferred drilling partner in Brazil for Research and Development projects associated with decarbonizing operations and new energy ventures, aligned with Constellation’s offshore capabilities.
This work has been carried out based on careful analyses of technological innovations that increase fuel-efficiency. We not only have initiatives and projects aimed at reducing emissions, but we also include initiatives focused on efficient resource management.
Some examples of projects adopted by Constellation aimed at reducing emissions in its operations:
- Ecobooster
EcoBooster is an auxiliary hydraulic system that acts as a temporary pressure boost for industrial equipment. It is made up of motors, valves, and accumulators that work together to ensure the main system continues to operate efficiently, even during periods of high demand. It works by increasing the hydraulic fluid pressure, which is stored and released as needed to maintain system stability.
This pressurized fluid is routed to the main circuit when pressure drops below a pre-set level, helping maintain equipment performance. The system also includes safety devices that prevent overpressure and allow automatic shutdown in an emergency, protecting both components and operators. The accumulators store fluid under pressure and are protected by valves and mechanisms that ensure safe operation.
By storing hydraulic energy and releasing it only when needed, it reduces the continuous energy consumption of the main pumps, avoiding waste. This supports a more economical and environmentally responsible operation.
- DTV (Digital Twin Vessel)
The Digital Twin Vessel (DTV) project is an initiative aimed at creating a digital twin of the Brava Star vessel, focusing on the dynamic positioning system. Using libraries developed by the University of São Paulo (USP) and simulations in Python, the virtual model can reproduce the vessel’s behavior in real time based on environmental and operational data. This includes information such as wind, waves, ocean currents, and propulsion system parameters, which are constantly updated to reflect real-world conditions.
The system allows changes to the vessel’s positioning commands during the simulation, making it possible to test different operational scenarios and assess the impact of decisions in real time. At each simulation step, the algorithm checks the data received from sensors and adjusts the model as needed, ensuring a faithful and dynamic representation of the rig’s operation. This continuous, interactive simulation capability directly supports decisionmaking, especially in critical activities such as power generation, drilling, and emissions control.
By enabling precise scenario simulation and evaluation of new equipment or control strategies, the system helps optimize energy consumption and reduce gas emissions. Integrating artificial intelligence with advanced physical models provides reliable forecasts and strategic insights, promoting safer, more economical, and more
environmentally responsible operations.
2. Coral-sol
Originally from Asia, sun coral is considered an invasive species on the Brazilian coast, with the potential to harm the development of other types of corals and impact the balance of local marine biodiversity. Constellation has actively collaborated with clients and partners on research and development projects focused on implementing technologies to manage sun coral. The tests conducted have shown positive results regarding the use of these innovations in offshore operations, contributing not only to the conservation of marine biodiversity but also to improved occupational safety by reducing the need for diving activities.
3. Water and effluents
Our offshore operations in oil and natural gas fields have low water consumption. The rigs use intake and desalination systems, supplying the necessary cooling water directly from the sea, with no significant impacts on water resources or shared use.
4. Waste
Waste management is guided by specific IMS procedures, which define classification (hazardous and nonhazardous), segregation, and disposal, in compliance with the National Solid Waste Policy (Law No. 12,305/2010) and National Environmental Council (CONAMA) Resolution No. 275/2001. Our activities, both offshore and at our base and offices, generate various types of waste. We work continuously to ensure proper disposal of these materials, prioritizing reuse and recycling whenever possible.

2. Inclusion and Diversity
At Constellation, we have structured our Diversity and Inclusion Program and have consistently evolved on several fronts: cultural awareness and literacy for all employees, training and formation of working groups, growth in workforce diversity, etc.
This topic is considered strategic by Constellation and, to promote an increasingly diverse and inclusive environment, we established four thematic working groups: W@C (Women), Origens (Race), BemCapaz (People with Disabilities), and O.I.L. – Pride, Freedom and Inclusion (LGBTQIA+).
Each of these groups is responsible for planning and carrying out initiatives aimed at awareness and recognition of their respective topics.
We have two goals and one commitment on D&I, seeking to increase the number of women offshore, increase the representation of underrepresented groups in our leadership, and ensure an environment of respect and inclusion.
